Yes, people, we caught the mouse. I am so happy.
Mom and I just returned from getting our hair cut. I feel so much lighter!
Steve went with me to the field this morning, and held Sully while I clipped him. I shaved his bridlepath, and trimmed his muzzle and jaw-line and the edges of his ears. Then I took about 6 inches off his mane. It was looking pretty scraggly. Then I trimmed the hair that hangs over his hooves.
He stood quietly through it all.
Then we threw on the bareback pad. I jumped on for a few minutes and we walked through the poles and around the ‘barrels’ I put up.
I managed to talk Steve into mounting up and trying out the cushy pad. He looked like an old pro. He hasn’t ridden but once or twice since the sand arena in Selby. But then, Sully can put anyone at ease.
That was all we had time for this morning. Yesterday, I got out for a “real” ride, and plan to go out again tomorrow.
