Due to issues with updating and a shift in my webmaster’s responsibilities, we have moved to WordPress for an easy solution. It will take me some time to get everything looking just the way I want it, including some experimentation with Picasa, which looks promising. I typically am on board with anything Google!
We have had some very strong storms the last couple of days, and I think the hail has done in my bulb bed for the spring before it ever had a chance to get started. The latest storm was this afternoon as Steve was attempting to grill steaks for us and my folks. The steaks came out great. Steve came out wet. We had couscous (new favorite) and a healthy version of green beans amandine, made with olive oil instead of butter. We also had Gevalia’s Mocha Kaffe for dessert. It was really good.
Jenny and I have made some progress on the fencing this week. We finished repair on the standing barbed wire without anyone losing an eye. Yes, that’s saying something. We have resorted to post hole diggers and endless tamping for getting the last few wood posts in the ground. I think we have two posts to go, and one brace, so we’re getting there, slowly but surely. I think the wire is going to be the easy part on this fence!
I do have a couple of pictures to put up, but I need to figure out Picasa first. Sully’s appearance and attitude has made a 180 degree turn for the better since we provided him with 100 gal stock tank for water. Amazing the difference. Mom said the other day that his going down into the spring for water must have been the equivalent of a human having to shimmy up a tree every time it needed a drink! Apparently, he would have just died of thirst first!
I finally got my lettuce and spinach planted yesterday. That felt like an accomplishment.
I am 4 days into the second 17 day cycle with my new eating plan. I lost 10.8 pounds on the first cycle. I am now enjoying 2 servings of healthy carbs every other day, and that is keeping any hunger at bay. Hence the couscous!
